Hey! I'm Toby, currently a graduate from Falmouth University in Cornwall, UK having studied Game Development: Animation. 

With a strong passion for animation, I often try to experiment with my style utilising the principles of animation to try and achieve unique effects, this allows me to keep the principles at the core of my work without stagnating. Along with experimentation, I also try to look at as many different sources of animation in a variety of styles when looking for inspiration, some of my favourite animations have been Sony Pictures Animation's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Netflix's Castlevania and 90s cartoons such as Gargoyles and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. However, I also enjoy looking into earlier animation, from the1980's and before, these include things like Heavy Metal, Jason and the Argonauts and Cheburashka.

Outside of animated films, I also really enjoy video games, alongside their animation, some of my favourites include CD Projekt Red's Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, Smilebit's Jet Set Radio and Sloclap's Absolver.

Alongside a strong passion for animation, I also have a variety of interests including Street Art, I'm currently the president of the Street Art Society at Falmouth University, along with a love for all sorts of music from metal to pop to swing and blues, I also enjoy feeling connected to nature and my surroundings; I really enjoy learning about different plants and mushrooms.

 

Alongside being proficient in Autodesk Maya, I also have varying experience in Unity, Unreal Engine 4, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Illustrator. I am always eager to learn new software alongside getting better at the software I already know.
